What’s in a name? Plenty, if you ask the Vishwa Hindu Parishad which has raised objections to the title of the forthcoming Loveratri , the film launching Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Ayush Sharma.
Apparently Salman had personally selected the title. He would now have to quickly think of an alternative title if he wants the film to be released at all, as the VHP has threatened to not allow the release of the film with its current title.
However a source close to Salman says he is unlikely to change the title. “Salman loves the title Loveratri. He finds it short cute and romantic. He specially handpicked it for his brother-in-law’s film.It is unlikely he will change it.”
Not one to mince words Shatrughan Sinha wonders what all the fuss is about. “Why is the film industry always the favourite whipping boy of any group that wants publicity? What harm can a film title cause? Why focus on such irrelevant issues? Why not speak about the death of democracy in the Karnataka issues? The rise in petrol prices?Atrocities against Dalits?”
Shatruji wants the film fraternity against their silence. “Whether it is Padmaavati changing into Padmaavat or Loveratri , the film industry encourages irrational attacks by keeping quiet. Stand up and say this is wrong. Be strong.”
