Hong Jong Hyun is confirmed to replace Yun Ji On in the upcoming web novel-based K-drama Positively Yours.
On September 22, media outlets reported that Hong Jong Hyun has been chosen to take over Yun Ji On’s role in the upcoming K-drama Positively Yours.
Hong Jong Hyun’s agency confirmed the reports and stated, “Hong Jong Hyun will be part of the upcoming Channel A’s K-drama Positively Yours and will portray the role of Lee Min Uk.”
Positively Yours will showcase the story of a woman who becomes pregnant after a one-night affair with a stranger. The father’s baby happened to be the company’s chairman, and he demanded that she marry him. The story will be depicted from the webtoon of the same name by Lee Jeong.
Hong Jong Hyun will be working alongside confirmed main leads Choi Jin Hyuk, Oh Yeon Seo, and SISTAR’s Kim Da Som.
Yun Ji On was supposed to portray the role of Lee Min Uk, the childhood friend of Jang Hui Won (Oh Yeon Seo), the female lead, and the rival of Kang Du Jun (Choi Jin Hyuk). However, Yoon Ji On stepped down from the K-drama due to his DUI scandal, and Hong Jong Hyun will now portray the character.
Meanwhile, Positively Yours is reportedly set to premiere in the first half of 2026.
Positively Yours will be Hong Jong Hyun’s first confirmed K-drama for 2026.
The actor is set to greet viewers this year through the upcoming series Dear X. He will work alongside Kim You Jung, Kim Young Dae, Kim Do Hoon, Lee Yeol Eum, Kim Yi Kyeong, and more.
Early this year, Hong Jong Hyun also made a cameo appearance in My Dearest Nemesis.
