Mathematician Anand Kumar feels immensely privileged that Hrithik Roshan is playing Anand in Super 30 , the bio-pic being directed by Vikas Bahl.
Says Anand appreciatively, “I saw the picture of Hrithik Roshan playing me. The resemblance to what I looked like in my younger days, is uncanny. There is a hunger in Hrithik’s eyes that I felt when I was starting out on my mission to tutor promising maths students and to give them an atmosphere conducive to learning. I think Hrithik understands that hunger. As an actor he has felt the same hunger.”
Anand deeply appreciates Hrithik’s efforts to get into character. “I have neither the body nor the face of Hrithikji. He understood the need to transform himself both physically and emotionally. He has actually put on a lot of weight to look like me.That’s commendable considering he is a superstar known for his six-pack physique. I hope his efforts pay off and that my message of gyan for underprivileged students reaches far and wide after this film.”
It is interesting that Bollywood now seeks out unsung heroes like Arunachalam Muruganantham(in R Balki’s PadMan) and Anand Kumar.
Says Anand Kumar, “There are so many like us who try to make a difference to society.Bollywood should make films about them instead of gangsters and underworld dons.”
