Singer HyunA gave fans a scare after suddenly collapsing during her performance at the Waterbomb Macau festival.
While performing her hit song Bubble Pop, HyunA unexpectedly fainted mid-stage. Without hesitation, her bodyguard rushed in, draping her arm over his shoulder and holding her securely as he calmly escorted her down the stage stairs. Moments later, he broke into a sprint carrying HyunA safely offstage, prompting comparisons to a famous scene from the 1992 film The Bodyguard.
However, online platforms saw a wave of shockingly inappropriate remarks. Comments included, “She must be too heavy; the bodyguard can’t even lift her,” “The guard looks exhausted,” and “If I don’t want to work at the office, I just faint too.” Others went as far as mocking her weight loss, saying, “She got so fat; of course she’s unhealthy,” and even took a jab at her personal life, writing, “Maybe her husband doesn’t love her enough.”
Following the incident, HyunA posted an apology on social media on November 9, writing: “I’m truly sorry. I wanted to give you my best, but everything happened so fast I barely remember. I’m especially sorry to all the fans who came out to see me.”
She later reassured fans by adding: “Please don’t worry anymore. I’ll work on building my strength and staying consistent moving forward.”
Despite the cruel online remarks, fans have expressed deep concern and admiration for HyunA’s resilience, calling for more empathy and less hate in the entertainment industry.
