i-dle (formerly (G)I-DLE) member Shuhua unexpectedly revealed her relationship status during her recent YouTube appearance.
Recently, Shuhua appeared in the first episode of a new YouTube travel series, Eotteokhaeng, along with tripleS member Yooyeon. The two female idols were meeting for the first time and bonded while talking about their preferences for traveling ahead of their actual travel to Jeju.
While looking for suitable accommodation, Yooyeon came across a place where the popular Korean dating show Transit Love was filmed. As the two idols started talking about the show, Yooyeon asked Shuhua if she would ever want to participate in one.
In response, Shuhua shockingly revealed that she couldn’t even if she wanted to, because she had been “motae solo,” or “single since birth.” This unexpected revelation made the entire room break into a laugh.
The i-dle member went on to wonder which dating show she could take part in. When Yooyeon suggested Heart Signal, she declined, reasoning that she was not fond of “flings,” which is essentially the spirit of the show.
Shuhua showed clear enthusiasm when Yooyeon mentioned Singles’ Inferno. However, her only condition was to film the show indoors so that she wouldn’t have to be out in the sun so much.
Shuhua’s candid admission of her own dating history, or the lack thereof, has drawn some divided reactions from netizens. While some felt that it was a white lie, others seemed to believe her words.
