I.O.I in Talks for Reunion to Celebrate 10th Debut Anniversary Next Year

I.O.I may soon reunite for a long-awaited celebration of their 10th debut anniversary, as the members and their agencies are actively engaged in discussions for a special comeback project in 2026.
While a reunion was once planned for 2019, the idea was scrapped due to the vote manipulation controversy surrounding Produce 101. However, this new attempt is gaining traction, sparked by the members themselves, who reportedly initiated the reunion as a heartfelt “gift” to fans.

“Since all the members are under different agencies, there are many steps that need to be taken,” an industry insider revealed. “This was the first discussion on specifics like scheduling, management, and activity plans. While it’s challenging to coordinate due to each member’s current commitments, the members are strongly motivated to reunite, so things are looking positive.”
Agencies representing the original I.O.I members have recently gathered to discuss the potential format, timing, and promotional plans for a commemorative song and group activities.

As fans hold their breath for an official confirmation, the possibility of seeing I.O.I share the stage once again—this time on their own terms—is already generating massive excitement across the K-pop community.
Formed in 2016 through Mnet’s Produce 101 Season 1, I.O.I brought together the top 11 trainees out of 101, launching the careers of now-established artists like Kim Sejeong, Jeon Somi, Chungha, Choi Yoojung, and Jung Chaeyeon. Although their journey as a project group ended in 2017, their impact on K-pop remains unforgettable.
