"I’m Here And I’m Ready:" Finn Jones Wants To Return To The MCU As Iron Fist And "Prove People Wrong"

Iron Fist actor Finn Jones recently revealed he’s game to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, roughly seven years after his last appearance as Danny Rand. Jones originated the role in Netflix’s Iron Fist in 2017, before reprising it for the crossover series, The Defenders. The latter show saw him team up with Daredevil/Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter). Unfortunately, his take on Iron Fist was not well-received by fans or critics.
Per ComicBookMovie.com, the controversy has not deterred Jones from wanting to revisit Danny. The actor explained: “I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is ‘give me a f*cking chance, man.’ I’m here, and I’m ready, and I wanna prove people wrong.“
As for what Jones would want from a continuation of his Iron Fist, he “would love to see the chemistry between [himself] and Mike again.” Of note, Iron Fist and Luke Cage often team up together in the comics. Jones praises their onscreen dynamic as “always fantastic,” adding: “I think those are really interesting characters to put together. ” He continued by stating: “If they would bring me and Mike back to do a Heroes For Hire TV series, I think it would be the right way.”
Though he has not played Iron Fist since 2018, Jones has been vocal about wanting to return to the franchise. Last year, the Game of Thrones star stated: “I think there’s a lot of room for growth with that character that I’ve always liked to see, and I think I’m in a place professionally where I would like to continue to grow with that character.” While it once seemed unlikely, there is now more hope than ever with Cox returning with Daredevil: Born Again.

I Rewatched Marvel’s Most Criticized Netflix Show And I Still Want Them To Return In The MCU
After rewatching the most criticized of the Netflix Marvel shows, I am adamant that the MCU should bring back its lead character and the series’ star.
Moreover, the other two main cast members from The Defenders have discussed returning. Ritter said she was “one hundred percent” ready to return, quipping: “if the opportunity calls, I may or may not have an extra jacket already.” Colter was less optimistic, simply saying: “If they call me, we’ll talk.”
Given the success of Daredevil: Born Again and the Defenders saga being confirmed as MCU canon, it’s only a matter of time before those heroes appear again. Even though Jones’ time as Iron Fist was poorly received, he was an essential part of The Defenders. Moreover, Jones is aware of the criticisms and wants to do the character justice. If Danny Rand is brought back either in an Iron Fist or a Heroes For Hire series, the MCU should give Jones a shot at redemption.
