Inside Jennifer Lopez’s Secret Listening Party
It appears that the cathartic, healing power of creating new music has begun for Jennifer Lopez. The singer had a notably difficult year dealing with her divorce from Ben Affleck. So, she hosted an intimate and exclusive listening party on July 2. She revealed six new songs and also played some fan favorites. Except for one, the new songs were surprisingly upbeat. They will be featured in her “Up All Night” tour, which begins on July 8, 2025.
The Ballad Is About ‘Coming out of a Bad Situation Much Stronger’
Lopez’s super-secret listening party took place in Los Angeles for 30 fortunate fans. The danceable songs were “Up All Night.” “Regular,” “Free,” “Save Me Tonight,” and “Birthday.” The ballad she played was called “Wreckage of You.”
“‘Wreckage of You’ is a pop ballad that she told us she co-wrote and recorded two weeks ago,” one of the attendees, Edgardo Luis Rivera, told Us Weekly.
“She said she was lying in bed after a long day of tour rehearsals when the idea of the song came to her.”
“She mentioned how last year was a very difficult time for her both personally and professionally,” Rivera added. “She had to cancel her tour and really focus on herself. Fast-forward to one year later, and she feels better and stronger than ever, so she wanted to write a song about coming out of a bad situation much stronger.”
“Lopez “kept thinking of the word ‘wreck’ because it means destruction, but she wasn’t destroyed,” Rivera said. “In fact, the lyrics of the song are, ‘I’m stronger after the wreckage of you.’”
Lopez Gifted Attendees Tickets to Her Las Vegas New Year’s Eve Concert
A secret listening party would probably be enough for any of Lopez’s die-hard fans. However, Lopez went a step further to show them how much they mean to her. Rivera posted an Instagram photo with the caption, “I’m still in shock, Jennifer Lopez just gave us all a pair of tickets to her ‘Up All Night’ Las Vegas residency on New Year’s Eve! O-M-G. Thank You!!!!!”
Lopez generously provided attendees with tickets to her upcoming residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. She also gave them signed posters, T-shirts, and JLo Beauty products.
Those who want to hear her new songs may have to buy a ticket to one of her concerts. Rivera said that she told the crowd she “didn’t know yet how or if she would release them.”
“She feels very free right now,” he said. “And on this summer tour, she wants to perform some new material that she’s been working on because a lot of these new songs express how she feels.”
