Set to premiere globally on October 3, right before Chuseok, the fantasy romantic comedy Genie, Make a Wish tells the story of a genie named Jinn (played by Kim Woo-bin), who awakens after a thousand years only to meet Ka-young (played by Suzy), a human devoid of emotions. Their encounter sparks a dangerous yet thrilling bet over three wishes, with Jinn’s naivety about the human world clashing with Ka-young’s chilling indifference.
The teaser poster captures their bizarre relationship in the middle of a golden desert storm, Jinn threatens his new master’s life, while Ka-young counters with a sharp hairpin to his throat. Their piercing gazes and electrifying tension raise questions about whether they will destroy each other or fall into an extraordinary bond.
The teaser trailer, introduced by the voice of character Sayyid (Ko Kyu-pil), highlights the outrageous dynamic between the “devilish” genie and his “psychopath” master. Jinn relentlessly begs Ka-young to make her wishes — “Hurry, wish quickly, wish now!” — but she rejects him, boldly declaring, “My first wish? Kill yourself.” Despite her resistance, Jinn must corrupt Ka-young through wishes in order to fulfill his dark destiny. Whether he can break through her wall of emptiness remains the central mystery.

Intriguingly, the trailer also reveals contrasting glimpses of Ka-young — at times shedding tears, at other times radiating joy — hinting at emotional awakenings. Meanwhile, breathtaking shots of Jinn and Ka-young soaring above Seoul promise a romance both thrilling and fantastical, unlike anything seen before.
With Kim Woo-bin and Suzy reuniting on screen alongside Ahn Eun-jin, Noh Sang-hyun, Ko Kyu-pil, and Lee Joo-young, Genie, Make a Wish offers a mesmerizing blend of fantasy, tension, and romance. The series will be released worldwide on Netflix on October 3.
