Is this the REAL REASON why Kareena Kapoor Khan is not attending SONAM KAPOOR’s wedding?
It has been reported that Kareena Kapoor Khan will only be attending her Veerey Di Wedding co-star Sonam Kapoor’s reception on May 8 at night. She won’t be going for Sonam’s wedding on the same day which will take place from 11am to 12.30pm, followed by lunch. The grand reception is being held at The Leela, in Andheri and will begin at 8 pm. But the actress won’t be attending Sonam’s sangeet or mehendi either. In a pic that has gone viral on social media Kareena and her husband Saif Ali Khan has been spotted at Heathrow Airport in London, twinning with similar beige-coloured trench coats, on Friday afternoon.
Says a source, “Saif and Kareena have taken off for the weekend to London for a short holiday and will be back by Tuesday afternoon. Since she and Sonam are close friends and bonded very strongly on the sets of Veerey Di Wedding, one was expecting to see Kareena performing at the younger actress’s sangeet and also be present at her mehendi ceremony too but obviously that’s not happening now. Sonam’s two-day wedding ceremony on May 7th and 8th in Mumbai will have Kareena attending the reception and skipping all the other events – the wedding, sangeet and mehndi. Saif and Kareena like to have their small breaks in between their intensive work schedules and away from prying eyes. They were in Maldives in February this year which few know about.”
The wedding celebrations will kick-start with sangeet and mehendi night on May 7 at a spacious hall inside a BKC building while she and Anand will get married in her aunt Kavita Singh’s heritage bungalow in Bandra Bandstand. Saif and Kareena’s little baby Taimur has not accompanied the couple to London this time. The source adds, “Taimur is in Mumbai attending his play school. Recently he was spotted waving his hand at the paps while coming out of his play school with his nanny. Saif and Kareena don’t want him to miss out on his schooling and he will be joining them on their longer holiday when they travel to London in June.”
While Kareena recently completed shooting for the song Tareefan for VDW, Saif Ali Khan has been shooting for Navdeep Singh’s period-action-thriller where he plays a revengeful Pathan. After he returns from London this week, he will resume shooting for the second schedule of the Anand L Rai production in Devgarh.
