Park Bo Gum, Kim So Hyun, Lee Sang Yi, Heo Sung Tae, and Tae Won Seok share their thoughts on Good Boy.

Good Boy is an action comedy drama where medalists turned police officers, wearing police badges instead of medals around their necks, fight against injustice.

Park Bo Gum plays Yoon Dong Joo, a police officer and former Olympic gold medalist in boxing. He described Good Boy as “a new beginning and a challenge.” It is reported that Park poured his all into each action scene, immersing himself deeply into the character. Regarding his experience filming with the “Goodvengers,” he shared, “I had so much fun that I lost track of time,” and added warmly, “I was really happy to meet good people through Good Boy. Thank you to everyone!”

For Kim So Hyun, who plays Ji Han Na — an officer and former gold medalist in shooting — Good Boy is “a project through which I was able to gradually overcome my fear and become braver [than I previously used to be].”

Taking on the new challenge of firearm action, Kim approached the character through continuous training. She shared, “I’ve always longed for new experiences, but whenever I encountered them, I used to be overwhelmed with fear. Through this project, I was able to gradually overcome that fear,” adding, “It was also a time I became stronger through the character of Ji Han Na.”

Lee Sang Yi said, “I didn’t hesitate for Good Boy.” “The moment I read the script, I thought, ‘I have to do this.’” Taking on the role of Kim Jong Hyun, a detective and former fencing athlete, Lee learned fencing for the first time in his life and challenged himself with a character who is both cynical and warm — something he had never tried before. Lee Sang Yi said, “I think [viewers] will really get to see a new side of me, so I’m looking forward to the broadcast too.”

Heo Sung Tae commented, “Good Boy is a project that was with me during the most difficult time of my life, and its set was the one that gave me great strength.” Playing Go Man Sik, the team leader of the Special Violent Crimes Unit and a former wrestler, Heo portrayed a character who is rough yet compassionate in his leadership. He shared, “It’s no exaggeration to say I poured every bit of action and comedy I could possibly do [into this role].” “I gave so much to Good Boy that I’m worried I might not have any ad-libs left for the rest of my acting career.”

Tae Won Seok described Good Boy as “a project where simply being part of it gives me pride.” Taking on the role of Shin Jae Hong, an officer and bronze medalist in discus throw, Tae shared that he felt confident in the worldview built by writer Lee Dae II, Shim Na Yeon, and the character of Shin Jae Hong.

He shared that “from the beginning itself, I was certain I wanted to be a part of this project.”

Good Boy will premiere on May 31. The K-drama will be streaming on Prime Video for global audiences.
