Star, actor, producer Vishal Krishna says Jai Bhim is a film that makes Tamil Nadu proud. “It is a hardhitting powerful film, and look at how far it has reached in no time at all! We are all so proud of the film and Suriya Sir.”
Filmmaker Ananth Mahadevan who has made several commendable biopics including one on the unsung freedom fighter Gaur Hari Dastaan says, “Popular Indian cinema has often reflected social issues in its work. Whether it is political revolution (Inquilab) police brutality ( Meri Awaaz Suno) or casteism now in Jai Bhim .The common factor in all these films is the necessity to make it palatable to a wider audience. My Marathi film MAI GHAT(official selection and winner at the International Competition, IFFI 2019) was on police brutality and custodial death ..a true story that occurred in Kerala. It was about lower caste exploitation….by their own caste in the police. Which is what happens often.”
