As Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo takes flight with shocking revelations about the new Okkotsu siblings, the story races toward an explosive clash. Jujutsu Kaisen chapter #7 has set the stage for what promises to be the greatest battle since the fight against Sukuna, hinting not only that Yuji’s return is imminent but also that readers should prepare for the sweetest revenge.
In Chapter #7 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Mahito briefly appears before Tsurugi, who seems to have been waiting for Yuji. This short exchange revealed that the Special Grade Cursed Spirit could return to the story for good, which, in addition to Yuji Itadori’s cameo, has already set up the long-awaited battle fans have been waiting for since the Shibuya Incident arc.
Yuji Itadori Will Finally Get Revenge on Mahito in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo
One of the best moments in the series comes in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, episode 21, where Yuji promises Mahito that he will kill him no matter how many times he is reborn. Sadly, Yuji was unable to finish Mahito off thanks to Kenjaku’s intervention. This made fans feel that Yuji didn’t get the revenge he deserved.
“I’ll just kill you. And if you’re ever reborn again as a new curse, I’ll kill you then, too. You can change your name and change your appearance, but I’ll still kill you again and again. – Yuji Itadori
Fortunately, Yuji and Mahito’s appearances in consecutive chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo prove they will return. Mahito’s words highlight that he has been waiting for Yuji on the pathway of souls, which means he is alive. That means Yuji’s body may be aging differently after consuming the death paintings. Also, Mahito was destined to return as a cursed spirit.
As a result, Jujutsu Kaisen‘s sequel will give Yuji the chance to get his revenge on Mahito, demonstrating his growth after decades of killing cursed spirits. Furthermore, Mahito embodies the fear and hatred of humans, which could increase in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo due to the dangerous alien threat. Therefore, Mahito will be stronger than before.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Has Already Hinted at What Mahito Will Do
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter #7 unveils that Yuta Okkotsu has a brain tumor and only has 6 months left to live. Since Mahito’s cursed technique can reshape souls, indirectly modifying people’s bodies, it’s possible that he would propose a binding vow in exchange for curing Yuka. While Mahito could cure her, it comes with a high price to pay.
An example is what Mahito did to Kokichi Muta (Mechamaru) and Junpei. However, even if Tsurugi and Yuka don’t agree to this binding vow, it could set up the perfect scenario for Yuji to step in and get his rematch. The prospect of Yuji facing Mahito means Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo could bring closure to what the main story left hanging.
