Justin Baldoni is currently vacationing with his family in Costa Rica following a legal development in his ongoing case with Blake Lively.
A source told PEOPLE, “He’s enjoying a nice holiday with the family in Costa Rica.” Baldoni shares two children, Maiya and Maxwell, with his wife, Emily. A video showing him holding a surfboard at the beach during the vacation surfaced on Reddit on June 15, coinciding with Father’s Day.
On June 9, U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit against Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and publicist Leslie Sloane. The judge also dismissed Baldoni’s $250 million libel lawsuit against The New York Times. Baldoni filed these lawsuits after Lively accused him of sexual harassment and retaliation in December 2024, allegations he denies.
The court allowed Baldoni’s legal team until June 23 to amend two claims: breach of implied contract and tortious interference with contract. Following the dismissal, Lively shared a statement via Instagram Stories, calling the countersuit “abusive” and saying, “While the suit against me was defeated, so many don’t have the resources to fight back.” She added, “I am more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every woman’s right to have a voice.”
On June 10, Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman spoke to TMZ Live about the dismissal. He said, “It’s not fair. It’s not right. He wants the truth to come out, and he wants to do that in the appropriate way.” Freedman added that Baldoni “knows what he’s done, he knows what he hasn’t done” and is “waiting for his day in court.”
Lively’s attorneys described the dismissal as a “total victory and a complete vindication.” Freedman disputed that, calling their statement “false” and said he looks forward to Lively’s deposition.
