Kang Tae Oh is about to witness an emotional moment between Lee Sun Bin and Lee Hak Joo in “The Potato Lab”!

tvN’s “The Potato Lab” is a romantic comedy that centers on a rural potato research institute. Lee Sun Bin stars as Kim Mi Kyung, a researcher whose life revolves entirely around potatoes, while Kang Tae Oh plays So Baek Ho, a cold pragmatist who joins the institute as its new director.

Spoilers

On the previous episode of “The Potato Lab,” Kim Mi Kyung finally realized who Yoon Hee Jin (Jung Shin Hye) was. During an awkward encounter at the end of the episode, Mi Kyung suddenly remembered seeing Yoon Hee Jin’s name on the wedding invitation handed to her by Park Ki Se (Lee Hak Joo) six years ago.

In newly released stills from the drama’s next episode, Mi Kyung and Ki Se tear up during an intense conversation. While Mi Kyung has always been—understandably—hostile towards Ki Se, the atmosphere between the two exes seems to have changed completely as they gaze emotionally at one another. Even when Ki Se grabs Mi Kyung’s shoulder, she doesn’t push him away, piquing curiosity as to what they could be talking about.

Later, as Ki Se embraces Mi Kyung and cries on her shoulder, a shocked Baek Ho witnesses the moment from afar with a cold expression.

The drama’s production team teased, “In Episode 9, something will happen that reminds Kim Mi Kyung of her emotional wounds from six years ago. Please tune in to find out why Park Ki Se is crying in front of Kim Mi Kyung—and what sort of crisis Kim Mi Kyung and So Baek Ho will face because of Park Ki Se’s transformation.”

The next episode of “The Potato Lab” will air on March 29 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
