Kang You Seok on why he chose 'Law and the City'

Kang You Seok shares his thoughts on Law and the City.

Law and the City is a story about the joys, sorrows, and growth of five associate lawyers who work at law firms located in the Seocho Judicial Town. 

Kang expressed his reason for choosing Law and the City, saying, “It seemed like an everyday, warm drama. The script was very appealing, and as I talked with the director, I felt that I wanted to work together with him, and also act alongside the other cast actors.” 

Talking about his first impression of Cho Chang Won, he recalled, “Among the five lawyers, he seemed to be the one who talks a lot and sets the mood.”

Describing him as “mood maker” and “talker,” Kang added, “Among the five, he’s the brightest and sweetest, so if I were to compare him to food, I’d say he’s like dessert.” To bring out Cho’s character, Kang shared that he tried to raise his tone and quicken his breathing when delivering his lines. He also revealed his styling secret: “Since the character is older than I am in real life, I paid attention to make my styling look a bit more mature.”

Lastly, the actor picked “the chemistry between the five associate lawyers“ as the biggest highlight of Law and the City. He said, “I think it will be a drama that makes you curious about what meal the five of them will have, what conversations they will share, and how their everyday lives will be portrayed. Please show it lots of love.”

Law and the City premieres on July 5. The K-drama will be available on Disney+ (select regions).
