Karan Johar Ups The Stakes For Rajamouli’s Film

Without even seeing one shot of  the film, Karan  Johar is so deeply impressed  by S S Rajamouli’s next  , tentatively titled RRR that Bollywood’s most successful producer has  decided  to  up the ante .

While  Rajamouli was  all set to  shoot  the  film on a  set erected at  Ramoji Rao Studio in  Hyderabad, Karan, who co-produces  Rajamouli’s next project,  wants  the director to shoot on lavish locations all across the world.

Apparently  the brief from Karan  Johar is simple:   go, splurge.     

Says a source  from Johar’s Dharma  Productions, “Basically Rajamouli  belongs to the conservative school  of filmmaking as far as  budgets are concerned.  Even after making the most successful Indian  film  of all times(Baahubali)  Rajamouli believes  in  cutting corners.  Karan Johar will have none of that. He wants no expenses spared for RRR. He also wants Rajamouli to spend  money on himself, buy a new home  ,  wear designer clothes,  etc. But Rajamouli smiles through Karan’s  promised indulgences.”

Incidentally  RRR is not  the film’s final  title   .

Says a source  close to the project, “It’s just something  the film’s director  Rajamouli and his two  lead actors Ramcharan Teja and NTR Jr came up with until further notice.Also the film has  nothing to do with reincarnation.”
