Kelly Clarkson Fans Are Convinced She Dropped a Clue About Her Talk Show Absence

Will Kelly Clarkson ever reveal why she had an extended absence from her daytime talk show in March? Her fans are convinced that the former “The Voice” coach might have hinted at it in her recent music announcement.
Did Kelly Clarkson Give a Clue About Her Absence?
On April 18, Clarkson took to Instagram with a simple enough post — artwork for a new single and the caption “Soon … “
Fans thought perhaps the song title held a clue about her talk show absence. “Where Have You Been” seems to pose the question that concerned fans asked when she returned to host “The Kelly Clarkson Show” again.
Will the song lyrics give any hints? Fans will have to wait and see, but early reactions reveal a lot of excitement over Clarkson’s new music.
In one Reddit discussion about Clarkson’s announcement, fans noted, “Good to hear that she’s releasing new music. Always happy for her” and “She’s been through a lot. Glad to see she’s still in it!”
Another fan noted, “So excited for this. Absolutely loved chemistry and have a ticket for her upcoming Vegas residency.”
One fan shared, “Always hyped for new Kelly! I know the chances of it are basically zero, but I hope she does a full tour for the new album.”
Another person commented, “I’m so excited for her (Miss) independent era, can’t wait to hear what she makes without restrictions for the first time in her career.”
On May 6, Clarkson kicks off the “Today” Citi Concert Series, performing live at Rockefeller Plaza, so maybe she’ll perform “Where Have You Been.”
Famous Guest Hosts Filled In for Clarkson During Absence
When Clarkson was suddenly missing from her show, a number of guest hosts filled in.
Clarkson was first absent for the March 3 taping of the show, but actor Simu Liu, who was scheduled to be a guest, covered as host. “Kelly isn’t able to make it today. We’re sending her our very best,” Liu said at the time.
The actor added, “I did not know that I was doing this until about five minutes ago when I arrived to promote my new movie ‘Last Breath’ … I’m here now, and look, I’m not one to back down from a challenge.”
Clarkson missed additional shows in March, with comedian Roy Wood Jr., actress Wanda Sykes and singer Josh Groban, actress Brooke Shields, the “Today” show’s Willie Geist, actress Molly Sims, actor Kal Penn, and Bravo’s Andy Cohen filling in.
