Kelly Clarkson Reveals What Brings out Her ‘Gangster’ Side

“American Idol” winner and former “The Voice” coach Kelly Clarkson shared a wild story during a recent episode of her talk show. One of her guests was “Pitch Perfect” star Anna Kendrick, and during their chat, Clarkson recalled an experience that brought out her “gangster” side.
Kelly Clarkson Was Prompted to Yell Into the ‘Abyss’
On May 15, the Instagram page for “The Kelly Clarkson Show” shared a clip of the conversation between Clarkson and Kendrick.
Kendrick talked about doing some doom scrolling on her phone late at night, and she came across folk lore about what to do if one hears a whistle while in the woods at night. According to what she came across, one should never acknowledge the whistle, or it would lead to trouble.
She explained, “If you hear something, no you didn’t. If you hear your name, no you didn’t.”
That prompted Clarkson to share her personal experience with something very much like what Kendrick talked about.
Clarkson began, “Do you wanna know what’s funny? So at my ranch, it was really late, I was by myself.”
“I kept hearing this whistle outside… I literally yelled into the abyss. I was like, ‘You don’t want any of this.’ I was so mad,” Clarkson added.
She explained, “When I get afraid, I’m in the middle of nowhere. So when I get afraid, I become so gangster.”
After yelling out into the woods to try to scare off whatever was out there, Clarkson called someone on the ranch to tell them, “There’s somebody on the property.” The person she talked to “came up, and he’s like, ‘So, there’s a bird’ that makes [the sound she heard].”
He showed her the bird, and “Then I went to bed feeling like a fool,” Clarkson admitted.
