Kim Bo-ra’s Sudden Divorce: Reason Behind Split Finally Revealed?

Actress Kim Bo-ra has officially confirmed her divorce from director Jo Ba-reun, ending their marriage less than a year after tying the knot. The announcement comes after the couple finalized the divorce by mutual agreement, as confirmed by her agency, Noon Company, on May 10.
Later that day, Kim took to Instagram to share a series of photos from the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival, where she appeared professionally engaged and smiling among colleagues.
However, one particular image stood out—a simple note reading: “We were happy.” Her one-word caption, “The end,” added a reflective tone to the update, prompting emotional reactions from fans.
Kim and Jo had dated for three years before marrying in June 2023. They met during the production of the 2021 horror film Ghost Mansion, where Kim starred and Jo directed. Their working relationship quickly evolved into a romance, culminating in marriage—a decision Kim once described as built on “deep trust.”

Just seven months ago, Kim spoke warmly of her marriage, saying it helped her become more emotionally open and brought her closer to Jo’s family. She even shared how she was lovingly welcomed by her in-laws during her first Chuseok holiday with them.
While the exact reasons for their separation remain undisclosed, the brevity of their marriage—only 11 months—has reignited public interest in the couple’s relationship timeline.
Kim Bo-ra, a former child actress, debuted in the 2005 drama Wedding and gained nationwide fame for her role as Kim Hye-na in JTBC’s SKY Castle. Director Jo Ba-reun earned industry recognition in 2017, winning Best Korean Short at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. His filmography includes Vibration, Gang, Slate, and Ghost Mansion.
