On April 20, 2025, KBS 2TV’s popular variety show 2 Days 1 Night aired a special episode celebrating cast member Kim Jong-min’s upcoming marriage. The episode, set in Geoje City, Gyeongsangnam-do, featured a heartfelt “early wedding” ceremony that left both the cast and viewers deeply moved.

The production team prepared a surprise video montage, beginning with the announcement, “The wedding ceremony of the groom Kim Jong-min will be held in advance to the nation.” The video included appearances by former cast members Lee Soo-geun, Cha Tae-hyun, and Kim Jun-ho, as well as singer Uhm Jung-hwa—who played a pivotal role in Kim Jong-min’s rise to fame with the nickname “V-man”—and his niece Yoon-seo. Messages from past guests and fans across the country added to the emotional atmosphere.

The ceremony showcased photos from Kim Jong-min’s childhood, school days, early TV career as a backup dancer, and his debut with the group Koyote. Particularly touching was the reflection on his journey from joining 2 Days 1 Night as the youngest member in 2007 to becoming its longest-serving senior member.

A poignant moment occurred when Kim Jong-min’s mother made a surprise appearance, reading a handwritten letter expressing her deep affection. The emotional peak came with the presentation of an AI-generated image of his late father, appearing alongside him in a wedding photo. Moved to tears, Kim Jong-min shared memories of his father and expressed gratitude to his mother, who raised her children alone.

In a heartfelt message to his parents, Kim Jong-min said:

”Mom, Dad, I’m getting married soon. I wish Dad were still alive. My biggest regret is not being able to repay you. Mom is now over 70, and time flies so fast, so I’ll try to take better care of her. I’ll live happily and healthily, and someday I’ll see you again, Dad. Thank you and I love you both very much.”

This special episode not only celebrated Kim Jong-min’s upcoming nuptials but also honored his personal and professional journey, leaving a lasting impression on all who watched.
