Kim Petras & Dua Lipa Honored With Wax Figures at Berlin’s Madam Tussauds Museum
Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriters Kim Petras and Dua Lipa were among the artists honored with wax figures at Madam Tussauds Wax Museum in Berlin, Germany on Thursday, April 3rd. Wax figures of both artists, as well as one crafted in the likeness of German rapper Kontra K, were unveiled at the ceremony.

Petras, who made history in 2023 when she became the first openly transgender woman to win the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group alongside Sam Smith for their song “Unholy,” became the second trans woman to be honored with a Madam Tussaud’s wax figure, with openly trans “Orange is The New Black” actress Laverne Cox being the first. Cox’s wax figure was unveiled in 2015. Cox’s figure is currently housed at San Francisco Madam Tussauds Wax Museum.
Alongside the formal unveiling in Berlin, Madam Tussauds similarly shared some behind-the-scenes photos and footage of Petras as she worked with the museum’s technicians to create the historic figure.
“The highlight of my career has been my wax figure at Madam Tussauds,” Petras said in one clip posted to the Berlin museum’s website. “There’s no doubt about it.”
The behind-the-scenes footage shows all of the hard work that goes into creating the life-like wax figures. In the clips Petras can be seen having her measurements taken, having molds of her hands casted, and taking plenty of reference photos in her iconic “Unholy” Grammy’s performance dress.
All in all, Petras spent four hours with Madam Tussauds’ technicians taking all the scans and measurements necessary for them to create the wax figure that looks identical to the German singer-songwriter.
Petras’ wax figure was unveiled alongside figures of Dua Lipa and Kontra K at the Berlin ceremony.
Dua Lipa Receives Third Madam Tussauds Wax Figure
Unlike Kim Petras, who received her first-ever wax figure at April’s Berlin unveiling, Dua Lipa’s latest wax figure is actually the artist’s third. In March and April of 2024, Dua Lipa was honored with wax figures at Madam Tussauds museums in Orlando, Florida and Istanbul, Turkey respectively.
GettyDespite having multiple wax figures across the globe, all of Dua Lipa’s figures share a similar pose, with the Istanbul and newly-unveiled Berlin figures sharing near-identical outfits as well, with both being dressed in versions of the artist’s custom Mugler bodysuit that she wore on her 2021-2022 Future Nostalgia Tour.
The tour followed Dua Lipa’s 2020 album of the same name, which earned the English-and-Albanian artist the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2021, as well as an Album of the Year nomination.
The wax figures of Kim Petras, Dua Lipa, and German rapper Kontra K are on display now at Berlin’s Madam Tussauds Wax Museum, joining figures of other famous musicians like Taylor Swift, Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, and more.
