On August 18, tvN released a teaser video for Kim Tae-hee’s upcoming appearance on the show. Kim Tae-hee, who made her Hollywood debut through Butterfly, revealed the behind-the-scenes story of her casting: “The writer first suggested me for the role. They said the writer’s mother watched Stairway to Heaven and commented that I’m a talented actress who graduated from Seoul National University.”
Kim Tae-hee is married to singer-actor Rain and they have two daughters. On the show, Jo Se-ho remarked, “I guess one looks like Kim Tae-hee and the other like Rain,” to which Kim Tae-hee humorously responded, “For the eldest, the top resembles me and the bottom my husband. For the youngest, the top is my husband and the bottom is me. Mixed emotions!”
When Yoo Jae-suk asked what her children usually say to her, Kim Tae-hee replied, “They just keep calling me.” Jo Se-ho added jokingly, “Being born with such a beautiful mom, they’d probably brag to their friends, saying, ‘This is our mom!’”
Kim Tae-hee also shared how she decided to marry Rain. She recalled receiving a small, considerate gift from him during a heavy and difficult time: “It wasn’t burdensome at all, but when I opened it, I couldn’t help but laugh. That’s when I sent him my first message.”
The actress even became emotional thinking about her mother, saying, “When I struggle emotionally, I feel like I’ve wronged my mom so much,” bringing viewers’ curiosity and sympathy.
