Kristin Cavallari Opens up About Recent Meaningful Relationship: ‘All the Pieces Were There’
Kristin Cavallari revealed that she had briefly dated ex-NFL player Nate Thompson on the March 31 episode of her podcast, “Let’s Be Honest.”
The former “Laguna Beach” star said, “He’s been retired for a couple years now. He’s a dad. He’s someone who has done a lot of work on himself, and we really connected on such a deep level.”
She added, “Honestly, one of the deeper relationships I’ve had, especially in such a short amount of time … we didn’t hold back anything.”
Cavallari told listeners that the relationship was mostly long-distance, as Thompson is based in Los Angeles while she’s in Nashville.
Although she had nothing but praise for Thompson, Cavallari admitted that a certain “spark” was missing between them. “I need compatibility, and I need chemistry. And I understand that what I’m looking for is rare.”
“I was attracted to him. All the pieces were there … I just didn’t want to be in a relationship,” she explained.
Cavallari also shared that dating was difficult due to being a single mom and being on tour for her podcast.
“I don’t want any distractions before my tour. And I really stuck to that. I really was serious. I did not put any energy into men. I did not talk to any men,” she said.
Cavallari Says She’s Holding Off on Dating For Now
Cavallari is still open to a relationship, but she shared during her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast live show on March 13 that she’s waiting until after her tour, People reported.
Her guest, Brie Garcia, asked Cavallari if she was talking to anyone famous. “These ones are. But I mean, I’m trying to stay out of headlines while I’m on the podcast,” the Uncommon James founder replied.
She said, “I swore off dating for the last few months, and it is up and down if I’m being completely honest. I would say, overall it’s been fun.”
“The last five years have been the first time in my life I’ve been single, and I’ve dated,” Cavallari continued. She added, “It’s been good for me because every guy I’ve even talked to, I learn more about what I do and don’t want.”
Cavallari’s Last Relationship Was With Mark Estes
Cavallari began dating TikTok personality Mark Estes in February 2024 and opened up about their 13-year age gap in a March 12, 2024, episode of “Let’s Be Honest.”
“Me dating a 24-year-old is not something that I was searching out. It’s not something that I at all ever thought would ever happen,” she said.
She continued, “I understand what it looks like to the outside world. I really do. I get that. He is not a typical 24-year-old.”
In October 2024, Cavallari revealed that she and Estes had broken up due to their age difference. “I just know, long-term, he needs to experience life. He’s young, and I started to feel the age a little bit just with life experience,” she explained on “Let’s Be Honest.”
“He will make someone so happy one day. I know one day he will look back and he will understand it. And I actually think one day he will thank me,” the reality star said.
