After Kristin Cavallari revealed that she had dated Nate Thompson during the March 31 episode of “Let’s Be Honest,” the ex-NFL star responded.

“That’s her world, that’s what she does, and her podcast, obviously, as you know, is pretty big, and she talks about her relationships, so I knew it was probably going to come out, eventually,” he said on his podcast Energy Line.

He continued, “I have nothing bad to say about Kristin. She’s a really, really good person. Great mom, and yeah, it was fun … We had a good time. Life is gonna life, and it just didn’t work out.”

“We had a lot in common. She’s a single parent. I am, too. Obviously, we don’t live in the same cities,  so that dynamic changed things,” he said, echoing Cavallari’s statement that the long-distance romance wasn’t easy.

He added, “We had a connection in the short time that we talked or hung out, or whatever you wanna call it. I wouldn’t have called her my girlfriend.”

Thompson had nothing but good things to say about Cavallari and stated on the podcast, “Kristin’s a really good person … she’s very genuine too. People can say what they want about her, but she’s a good person. She’s a great mom, she hustles, she does her thing.”

Cavallari Reveals Why She Doesn’t Want to Date Athletes Anymore

After marrying an ex-NFL player and briefly dating a retired hockey star, Cavallari shared on the April 1 episode of “Let’s Be Honest” that she’s done with athletes.

She revealed that after her breakup with her last boyfriend, Mark Estes, she reactivated her Raya account, and the first person who messaged her was an athlete.

“At the time, I was done with athletes. I had made a real solid promise to myself that I was never dating another athlete ever again,” she said.

The former “Laguna Beach” star made clear that retired athletes were okay to date, but currently active ones were not.

“That’s not a lifestyle I ever want to go through again,” Cavallari explained. “My life isn’t conducive to that. I can’t date an athlete who’s gone all the time. It doesn’t work because I can’t be on the road.”

Aside from her ex-husband Jay Cutler and Nate Thompson, Cavallari once dated football star Matt Leinhart when she was 18 years old.

In a January 2023 episode of “Back to the Beach,” Cavallari said, “I’m actually still good friends with Matt. Matt is the nicest human being on the planet.”

She recalled, “I dated him when I was 18, my second half of my senior year. He was a five-year senior at USC. He was on top of the world that year. I was so excited about it, clearly, like no chill whatsoever, but it was a big deal for me.”

Cavallari referred to Leinhart as her “first quarterback,” and while she looked back fondly on their relationship, she admitted athletes’ schedules were too demanding.

“I don’t think I want to date another athlete. I’ve done that. I want to leave that in the past,” she said.
