Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s self-proclaimed heroine-crisis is over, at least for now.
After Chitrangda Singh’s unceremonious walk-out of Kushan Nandy’s Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, there was an interlude of prolonged tension as the film in question was left without a heroine.
The crisis has now been solved.
Bidita who has acted in 11 films in 4 languages ( Bengali, Hindi, Oriya, and Assamese) is described by the Babumoshai Bandookbaaz team as “a younger version of Chitrangada, and just as talented”. She was last seen in the experimental segmented Hindi film X where she was cast opposite Rajat Kapoor in one of the episodes.
Says director Kushan Nandy, “We wanted someone who would fit into the plot effortlessly after the earlier heroine’s departure. Bidita immediately gave us the dates we required. Moreover, she is perfect for the part.”
New victory phase for Chitrangda after turning as a producer for Soorma.
