Lata Mangeshkar Finally Discharged From Hospital, Returns Home

After  28 days  in  hospital, India’s most beloved singer Lata Mangeshkar finally  returned to her home in Prabhu Kunj , Peddar Road to  a rousing welcome  from her fans well-wishers and  friends.

But  for those close  to her, hoping to  visit and meet Lataji, there is  disappointment in store.  Lataji is allowed no guests , at least not  for some time. And it is doubtful whether she will be able to meet even  those  outside the family who are  very close to her, as  the family is keeping strict vigil  over her routine ensuring she  does not strain herself in any way.

Lataji  was  admitted to hospital  on November 11  due to severe  lung infection.Since  then she has been slowly  and steadily recuperating  while some twitter users  continued to play  prophets  of doom, declaring her dead.

I recall an earlier incident when  Twitter had declared Lataji  “no more”

Her voice  brimming with mischief ,  Lataji’s  legendary sense  of humour had surfaced unannounced when she said, “Every time they  kill me off on  social media I  think  a few years  are added to my life.”

Welcome back, Lata Didi. We  love  you more than  you would ever  know. We need  you down  here. The  gods  can  take care  of themselves.

India’s greatest living artiste Lata Mangeshkar was in  the hospital for nearly  a month.

While the  nosy newshounds  lost interest  in the story, her millions of devotees across  the world remained exceptionally worried about her health.  Many from the  film  industry who are close to Lataji complained of  the  lack  of information on her health  from the family.

One  of  the  most respected and  iconized actresses of Indian cinema who is  a  huge fan of Lataji wonders why her family  created a cordon  of  silence around her health.

“I think everyone has  the  right to know about Lataji’s health. She  doesn’t belong to her family alone. She is everybody’s Didi. A member  of every Indian household  across the world.  We are not talking about a  routine singer here. There  is  an imperative  need for  her fans  to know what  is happening to her health,” says  the superstar-actress.

A leading  poet screen writer complains  about the lack information  on  Lataji’s health. “I   tried to get information from her family  . But I get nothing beyond the routine, ‘She’s doing  well’. That is just not enough.  If she was  in the hospital  for a month she was  clearly not doing well.Thank God  she  is home now.”
