Lee Mi Do And Lee Seung Woo Have shared their thoughts on their upcoming drama “Pump Up the Healthy Love”
“Pump Up the Healthy Love” is a rom-com drama about Do Hyun Joong (Lee Jun Young), a passionate and determined gym owner who radically transforms the lives of his overly anxious gym members.
Lee Mi Do takes on the role of Rosa, an employee at the gym owned by Do Hyun Joong. Known for her sharp wit, she handles even the most difficult and picky customers with ease. Having worked at the gym for a long time, she isn’t exactly thrilled about Hyun Joong taking over as the new owner and sees him as an unwelcome intruder.
Lee Seung Woo plays Alex, a friendly gym trainer with a baby face and muscular build. Alex is someone who completely understands Hyun Joong’s actions and even admires him. He will also serve as a mediator between Hyun Joong and Rosa, who frequently clash with each other.
On why she decided to star in the drama, Lee Mi Do shared, “As someone who loves exercising and participates in sports, I was really glad that a drama about fitness was being made. I chose it because I was drawn to the story, which is filled with relatable moments that anyone who works out would have experienced at least once.”
Lee Seung Woo commented, “The story of characters, each with their own backstory, gathering at the gym intrigued me. I especially found the fun chemistry between the members very appealing.”
Lee Seung Woo introduced his character Alex as a “baby-faced muscular guy” who is “diligent” and “bright.” He added, “He is sincere in keeping promises with himself and works out consistently. He has a bright and cheerful personality, and never loses hope or his cheerfulness, even in difficult situations.”
Lee Mi Do and Lee Seung Woo also shared their experiences working with their co-stars on set. Lee Mi Do explained, “There are many group scenes, so we naturally leaned on each other and worked together. Since everyone is truly passionate about exercise, we would check each other’s bodies and workouts even during breaks, just like real trainers and gym members. Even after filming, we continue to maintain a strong friendship.”
Lee Seung Woo added, “It was so fun on set that it was hard to hold back my laughter. Just as Alex gains positive energy from the various characters, I learned a lot from meeting such good people on set. The actors had great chemistry, and the teamwork was fantastic, which helped create many fun scenes.”
“Pump Up the Healthy Love” is set to premiere on April 30 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
