Ace and Chelley have had a unique Love Island USA experience. When they both walked into the villa on day one, they immediately realized they had already met in New York City. This sparked questions from the audience; were Ace and Chelley already in a relationship?
While there’s been no official debunking of that rumor, Ace’s actions didn’t seem like a doting boyfriend at first. When given the opportunity to couple up with Chelley or Yulissa Escobar, he chose the latter, only to find himself single when Yulissa was sent home due to inappropriate pre-show language.
Ace refused to couple up with Chelley at the next ceremony, this time choosing Amaya Espinal, a decision he would soon regret. Ace found Amaya to be clingy and come on too strong. Instead of building a connection with her, he threw himself into his relationship with Chelley.

Chelley was mad for two reasons. First, Ace kissed all of the Love Island USA season 7 women in a way that Chelley found to be unnecessary. Second, Huda danced on Ace and raised his heart rate the most. Chelley claimed she was only mad at Huda, not Ace, but the challenge clearly fractured their relationship.
