Madhu Mantena’s Ramayan , Will Hrithik-Deepika Play Rama & Sita?

 The mega-series  based on the Ramayan that  Madhu Mantena  in producing in partnership with  Namit Malhotraand Allu Aravind   is  likely to star Hrithik  Roshan and Deepika Padukone,  together  for  the  first time as Rama and Sita.

Hrithik as Rama because  many years  ago  he was to star as  the hero  of the Ramayan in his then-father-in-lawSanjay Khan proposed  epic. With Hrithik’s  other partnership with Mantena in Super 30 paying  off rich dividends why not another big project and that too one which will anoint him forever as Rama just as  Attenborough’s  Gandhi did to Ben  Kingsley.

As  for Deepika as Sita, who else could suit  the part  better? Neither Deepika nor Hrithik  have said  yes yet to Mantena’s mythological mindgame. But there is  no reason  for them to say no..

Apparently Mantena and his co-producers had initially  planned the Ramayan as a web series. But now with AamirKhan all set to do  the Mahabharat, Mantena’s Ramayan switched format. One hopes  the  3-part 600-crore project would be able to justify the  big bucks.
