Irony can go no further than this. The Accidental Prime Minister ,the much talked-about bio-pic on former Prime MinisterManmohan Singh won’t be watched by the man himself.
And there’s a good reason for this. While the film The Accidental Prime Minister flatters Mr Singh it makes his parent-party the Congress I. look like a villainous caucus.
According to a source close to the Congress I, “Manmohanji is caught in a strange situation. The film(The Accidental Prime Minister) is in his favour, but against his parent party. Mr Singh won’t offend Soniaji and Rahul Gandhi by showing his support for a film that allegedly insults them.”
Sources say Anupam Kher who plays Manmohan Singh has requested the real Singh to watch his reel version. The offer has been politely declined.
So vehemently opposed is the Congress I to the film that the film has been banned in all Congress I-run states.
Unconfirmed sources say Manmohan Singh may publicly disown the film as a “pack of lies”
“Not because he believes that to be true. But because that’s what Mrs Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi expect him to do,” explains the source.
