She also was the first woman to reach Siachen Glacier as stated by the Indian Armed Forces. In the year 2008, Forbes magazines ranked her as the most bankable Hollywood star from India; she was the first amongst all the Indians who feature in that list. In the same year she was bestowed with the French Honour Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) thereby being the first Indian women, making the nation proud once again.
In the year 2009, Aishwarya received the prestigious Padmashree, which is the highest honour bestowed upon by the country to an individual for their contribution to performing arts and entertainment from the hands of the President of India. She created a history then by being the youngest personality to receive such a huge accolade. In the year 2017, she continued her legacy of being the first to many by being the first woman to be hoisting the Indian Flag at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
