While the game is still in its development phase, the positive feedback now suggests that Marathon might finally be improving significantly. However, the game is obviously not done cooking yet, and as noted by a player who already has 25+ hours of gameplay on the playtest version of the game, it needs “more time in the oven,” along with other feedback.

While many would argue that breaking the NDA could possibly jeopardize the support the studio has been trying to provide to the fans, the leaks have inherently reignited interest and faith in Marathon’s future. Forums are full of excitement for the game’s new mechanics and the promise of a new extraction shooter experience.

While it was first announced in May 2023, there is unfortunately no set date for the upcoming game yet, and it will be available on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/ S.
