Last weekend Bihar’s world-renowned maths maverick Anand Kumar paid the Roshans in Mumbai a visit to meet the actor who will play Anand Kumar in a bio-pic to be directed by Vikas Bahl.
Anand has now returned to Patna raving about Hrithik Roshan. “He is such a big star and so handsome. But there is not an iota of vanity in him. When I agreed to visit Hrithikji at his residence I was not sure of how I’d be welcomed. But the minute I walked into his beautiful home I was made to feel comfortable. He is humble, attentive and warm.”
Anand aays he likes Hrithik’s work. “I don’t get time to watch too many films. But I’ve seen Krissh and Koi…Mil Gaya and I was very impressed by Hrithikji.”
While Anand has been asked by the film’s producers(Phantom films, comprising Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena and Vikramaditya Motwane) not to reveal details of the meeting sources tell us Hrithikshowed a keen interest in the way Anand spoke walked and carried himself.
Says Anand, “I am aware that Hrithik doesn’t look anything like me. But I don’t think the physical resemblance is as important as understanding my personality. And I feel Hrithik with his sensitive approach to characters will be able to project my thoughts opinions and world-view much better than any other actor.”
Anand also enjoyed meeting Hrithik’s father Rakesh Roshan. “I’ve watched his films from my college days. I loved Khubsoorat and Khatta Meetha. In fact Rakeshji’s favourite song Thoda hai thode kizaroorat hai from Khatta Meetha is also my favourite song. Every time I feel inadequate and dissatisfied with life I hum that song and I feel okay.”
Anand will now actively collaborate on his bio-pic. “I will be giving the director Vikas Bahl my suggestions . They will keep me in the loop throughout.”
He flies back to Mumbai soon for a second meeting with Hrithik.
“My students in Patna want Hrithik to come to Patna,” says Anand.
The problem will be sorted soon as Hrithik will be shooting part of the film in Patna.
