Looks like The Bold And The Beautiful just got a little more… bold and beautiful (sorry, we had to).
Per Deadline, the long-running CBS soap opera will cross a new milestone next week when it adds actor Harrison Cone to the cast as a yet-to-be-named character who will be a love interest for Remy Pryce, played by Queerty favorite Christian Weissmann.
The pair will reportedly mark the first time the series will feature a gay male couple in its 38-year run, and also—in a nice little tease for things to come—its first male-male kiss. To that we say: What took so long? But also: Yay!
The 22-year-old Cone will make his soap debut when he joins “B&B” on September 16, but he’s already got plenty of screen credits under his belt, including appearances in Hacks, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Mariah Carey’s “Type Dangerous” music video, and a supporting role in the nonbinary teen coming-of-age film I Wish You All The Best opposite Corey Fogelmanis.
How about we take this to the next level?

While his specific role on B&B has not been revealed due to an apparent “close tie” to another major character, he’s said to be playing an “aspiring designer” who first meets Remy at Forrester Creations, the series’ fictional fashion house.
The upcoming romance represents a turning point for Remy, who was first introduced on the series—in true, soapy fashion—as the potentially dangerous stalker of Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace), but has since been shown to be more sympathetic and become a fan favorite, especially in light of some revelations about his own connections to other longtime characters from the series.
“Remy is a really complex character,” Weissmann told TV Insider last year, “[but] he is just a hurt kid deep down and he doesn’t know how to place his emotions.”

The role has earned the 25-year-old actor a Daytime Emmy nomination this year in the Emerging Talent category. Of course, we’ve known of Weissmann’s talent for a few years now thanks to his work in series like Saved By The Bell and the rom-com Things Like This, plus his acclaimed poetry book Her, Him & I. Not to mention, he holds the distinction of being the first-ever guest of Queerty’s long-running Q&A series, Dishin’ It, so we’ll always be rooting for him!
Weissmann, who identifies as bisexual, shared Cone’s casting news on social media, confirming “Remy’s queer and we all cheered,” jokingly adding that this is his “official statement” on the matter.
Back in 2022, Weissmann spoke with Queerty about the important of bi representation and what embracing his identity has taught him:
“I feel that being bisexual/queer helped me challenge the tropes of heteronormativity,” he shared. “The binary view of seeing men as one way and woman as another was quickly debunked because I realized, when dating more than one gender, people are more or less the same… perfectly imperfect, flawed humans. All individuals are complicated and unique on their own. Gender should not be forcefully attached to their attributes to have to describe them.”
In that sense, it feels extra special that Weissmann’s Remy will get to explore his sexuality on B&B. Sure, when we first met him, he was a bit toxic and overly obsessed with a woman, but the series has given the character space to learn and grow—and now live his truth. Is Remy imperfect and flawed? Absolutely. But that’s what makes him human, and we’re grateful to see authentically complex representation on daytime TV.

Though the relationship will be a first for B&B, it’s not like the show has avoided LGBTQ+ representation entirely. As Deadline notes, the show’s first lesbian couple—Karen Spencer (Joanna Johnson) and Danielle (Crystal Chappell)—first appeared back in 2012, and 2015 they introduced Maya Avant (Karla Mosley), the “first regular transgender character in daytime television,” whose later televised wedding made her “the first transgender bride in all of TV,” ever!
As for Remy & his to-be-named partner, they’d part of a long tradition of gay couples in the soap world, which also includes As The World Turns‘ Luke Snyder and Noah Maye, Days Of Our Lives‘ Will Horton and Sonny Kiriakis, and Beyond The Gates‘ Martin Richardson and Bradley “Smitty” Smith.
And if you find yourself even more curious about the history of queer folks on soaps, well, we’ve got you covered! For starters, here’s a list of times soaps got “too gay for daytime TV.”
Anyway, we will definitely be tuning in to see what The Bold And The Beautiful has planned for Remy and his designer boo, and we can’t wait to watch Christian Weissmann and Harrison Cone steam up the screen.
