Melania Trump's Bold New Chapter Could Rattle the White House: 'She Knows What She Wants'

Melania Trump has kept a low profile in Washington, D.C. since the start of Donald Trump‘s second administration, but she’s making a high-profile move in another city.

On November 28, the First Lady of the United States announced that she has formed a Hollywood production company, Muse Films, ahead of the premiere of her upcoming documentary. “PRESENTING: MUSE FILMS, My new production company. MELANIA, the film, exclusively in theaters worldwide on January 30th, 2026,” she posted on X along with a video clip of the moving logo with epic movie music.

The name reportedly comes from her Secret Service code name, Muse, and marks a unique new chapter for a woman who has shown little interest in the first lady role. Still, a U.S. Sun insider thinks her self-titled documentary will allow her to take control of her personal narrative in the public eye.

“Melania wants people to know who she really is,” the source explained. “She’s a private person, but she is very happy to be back on the spotlight in that project, and she thinks that doing a documentary is the best way to talk about herself and her life in a deep way – in a deeper way than just public appearances or interviews. She knows what she wants, and she is a boss, that is for sure.”

An October press release shared that the film will focus on the 20 days ahead of her husband’s second inauguration. It will have a theatrical release before eventually making its way to streaming, along with a three-episode docuseries for Prime Video.

“Step inside Melania Trump’s world as she orchestrates inauguration plans, navigates the complexities of the White House transition, and reenters public life with her family,” the statement reads. “With exclusive footage capturing critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments, Melania, showcases Mrs. Trump’s return to one of the world’s most powerful roles.”

The project has already faced controversy since the director, Brett Ratner, hasn’t worked in Hollywood in eight years. He was accused of sexual harassment and misconduct by actresses, including Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge, in a 2017 Los Angeles Times exposé. Ratner, via his lawyer, Marty Singer, denied all of the allegations.

Melania was paid $40 million by Amazon to license the documentary, per the New York Post. It is unclear what her next project will be after the Melania release, but the move could set her up for a lucrative post-White House career in 2029.
