The new teaser starkly highlights the characters’ contrasting perspectives on the topic of assisted death and reveals the quintessential dilemmas of human nature. The teaser follows Woo So Jung (Lee Bo Young), an emergency medicine doctor who assists people with death; Jo Hyun Woo (Lee Min Ki), a terminal cancer patient for whom no treatment is effective; and Choi Dae Hyun (Kang Ki Young), who supports Woo So Jung in administering assisted deaths.

The teaser begins with showing Maria Welfare Hospital and a statue of the Virgin Mary. Desperate voices echo: “Please give me that treatment too,” and “I’d be grateful if you could kill me.” The screencard reads, “It wasn’t because I wanted to kill,” as harrowing images of patients writhing in pain unfold. Woo So Jung looks at a patient with deep concern and says, “Can we really call it treatment if all it does is prolong the suffering of a terminally ill patient?” But, she declares with firm resolve, “I no longer want to be someone who turns away from a patient’s pain.”

In another scene, Jo Hyun Woo walks down a corridor, followed by Woo So Jung, overwhelmed with terror, as he frantically pounds on a car window. A voiceover says, “No matter what good reason you give, this is still murder.”

The teaser leaves viewers with a lingering question: “Is this mercy, or a calculated murder?”

The production team commented, “Through the teaser, we aimed to spotlight the contrasting perspectives on assisted death, which lies at the heart of Mary Kills People. They added, “Please stay tuned to see how the series explores this social issue through characters with opposing beliefs.”
