The first part of Stranger Things‘ fifth season is out on Netflix, but fans still have questions about the alleged bullying claims between Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour.
While no one from the production has confirmed or denied the Daily Mail‘s November 1 report that the 21-year-old star lodged bullying and harassment claims against Harbour, Brown was willing to explain their “united” front at the November 6 red carpet premiere in Los Angeles.
“We’ve been doing that for the last 10 years,” she told The Hollywood Reporter just days after the premiere. “I mean, we have always been united in that. We love this show with everything, and we value our friendship more than anything.”

Brown didn’t go any further with her response, but it seems evident from their warm behavior at the premiere that they have moved on (if anything did happen on set). The Daily Mail never gave specifics of the report nor the investigation — it was a vague accusation, noting that there were no “claims of sexual impropriety.”
“Millie Bobby Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim before they started shooting the last season. There were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation went on for months,” a source told the media outlet.
Stranger Things co-creator Ross Duffer danced around the allegations with The Hollywood Reporter at the premiere.
“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family, and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy,” he said.
Stranger Things director and executive producer Shawn Levy hinted that something possibly happened, but it was in the past.
“You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment,” he explained. “And we’re proud of the fact that we did so.”
So, where did the bullying claim story originate? Well, Lainey Gossip theorizes that someone might have leaked the story to the Daily Mail amid Harbour’s messy divorce from Lily Allen, and Brown was “collateral damage” in that saga.
Fans may never know the truth because the Stranger Things cast and crew is keeping the story on lockdown. Still, Brown and Harbour are keeping up appearances that everything is OK in upside-down, and in the real world.
