Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin are usually side-by-side at any country music event, but they skipped the red carpet at the 2025 CMA Awards on Oct. 19.
That absence might have made fans’ hearts skip a beat, but there’s nothing to worry about when it comes to their relationship. The dynamic duo was spotted enjoying the festivities inside with coordinating outfits. (See the photo here.) The couple has been married for six years, and they looked pretty cozy together inside the venue. Lambert sported an embroidered floral pantsuit, paired with a black cowboy hat, and McLouglin looked dapper in a black suit.

Why did Lambert skip the CMAs red carpet?
The 42-year-old country star had a big night, debuting her new single, “A Song To Sing,” with Chris Stapleton. The duet was an important one for them, Stapleton explained in a statement, via Parade, noting that they had “known each other for a long time” after she was “one of the first people who ever cut a song of mine” when he was only 18.
It’s not uncommon for performers to miss the red carpet at an awards show if they have an important performance ahead of them. Stapleton explained the magnitude of the night together.
“I have a long history with Miranda Lambert,” he said.” So it’s cool to, you know, cut songs that I wrote with her and then this is the first time we’ve ever done a duet together that we wrote, but we’ve had a long history and it’s kinda fun to do things with old friends and we’ve got a huge band…. we called old friends and everybody up there just to have a big party up there onstage.”
Miranda Lambert & Brendan McLouglin’s relationship
The couple has had their ups and downs over the years — remember McLouglin’s “flirty dancing?” Well, they seem to be a united front these days, and fans swooned over his Nov. 10 Instagram post for his wife on her 42nd birthday.
“Happy Birthday to the most loving, talented, and caring person I’ve ever met @mirandalambert,” he wrote in the caption with a series of personal snapshots. “You had said yesterday that you read something that really resonated with you, ‘Don’t be afraid to be a beginner.’”
He continued, “From following your dreams of becoming a cowgirl, to picking up golf and competing in the Ryder Cup. You show me every day how fearless you are, how willing you are to jump into things even if it may take you out of your comfort zone. The world is a better place because of you. I love you, and I hope you have an amazing birthday. 42 looks good on you.”
The “Wranglers” singer sweetly replied in the comments, “Thanks, honey. I love you.”
Lambert and McLoughlin’s whirlwind romance began in November 2018 when they met on the set of Good Morning America. He was a New York City cop working security, and she was performing on the show that morning. Within three months, they were married.
“I feel like I’ve been through enough in my life to know what I don’t want, so when I know what I do want, I snatch it right up,” she told People in October 2019.
Lambert and McLoughlin are proving to be the perfect match.
