Law and the City is a story about the joys, sorrows, and growth of five associate lawyers, who work at law firms located in the Seocho Judicial Town.
In the K-drama, Mun Ka Young plays Kang Hee Ji, an associate lawyer at Johwa Law Firm. Kang Hee Ji is a lawyer in her first year, full of determination and passion to learn. She is confident, honest, and straightforward, and believes that changing one person’s life can change the world. She has dreams of practicing law to defend people rather than cases.
Especially because she aims to become a lawyer who not only provides legal assistance to her clients but also soothes their wounded hearts, there is still much she needs to do and learn. As she meets people — including members of the associate lawyers’ lunch group — she plans to steadily move toward her goal.
The stills capture the work life of first-year associate lawyer Kang Hee Ji. After finishing a lawsuit in court for a client, she returns straight to the office to analyze the previous case records. Her day is so hectic that there’s barely time for a proper meal as she can be seen holding a sandwich in one hand while examining documents.
Anticipation grows for Mun Ka Young’s transformation as she portrays Kang Hee Ji’s struggles.
