Lata Mangeshkar: “An artiste belongs to no one country community or religion. An artiste belongs to the world community. The death of an artiste is matter of grief for civilization. We mourn the going of an artiste who sang to God. Now he has joined Him.”

Ustad Amjad Ali Khan: “Very sad… Waqt SE pehle Chala Gayaa …. Don’t know the reason…. May his soul rest in peace… Khuda Uski Makhfarat Kare Uski Aatma Ko Muktimile , Shaanti Mile.

Arijit Singh: “It’s a loss to both India and Pakistan. It’s about time we took strong measures to protect our national treasure from destruction.”

Amit Trivedi: “Very sad news this is.Massive loss to music…one more amazing artist leaves us and so suddenly and violently.Heartfelt condolence and prayers.”

Sajid-Wajid: “It’s very sad . To hear of  Amjad  Sabri who sang to God, coming to such a violent death is shocking.”

Talat Aziz: “Shocking and very sad ! Had listened to him about ten years back and have been a great fan of his father and uncle.. Don’t know what’s happening to this world ! May he rest in peace.”

Ali Zafar: It’s shocking and hear breaking. Don’t have words to express. Sad. Very sad indeed. I hope his murderers are brought to justice and his legacy lives on. I remember meeting him at the PSL match last but my fondest memory of him is him singing Channomany years ago with me on a bus ride to a cricket match that we were playing. He was a gentle soul with a powerful voice. May God bless his soul.”

Shantanu Moitra: “One of the doyens of Sufi tradition , magical voice , a great qawwal, another needless demise. The world of traditional music is poorer without him.”

Manoj Muntashir: “Gale me usske khuda ki ajeeb baraat thee. Woh bolta tha to ik roshni si hoti thee. Amjad Sabri was a soul directly connected to the Almighty. In almost all of his qawwalis, you could sense divinity. His live performances were a rage. He should have lived more, music should have been served more. I would like to add, in a country where harmless and most loved artists are targeted, who  is safe if not an artiste who conversed with God?

Lalit Pandit: “It is extremely sad to know that extremists decided to kill an artists-!Amjad Sabri was a next generation innovative quawwal who was changing the sound and art of the Qawwali ..!i cannot understand what reason one had to think and kill a creative harmless human being???what were the killers thinking that he was doing which made them shoot him chasing him on a bike at blank range??
This surely proves that in Pakistan there is no protection for  artists !its unimaginable killing a kalakar for whatever reasons.its no wonder that every artist is trying to run away from Pakistan and come to india for work and for safety and better prospects ”

Kavita Krishnamurthy. “It is extremely sad to know that extremists decided to kill an artists-!Amjad Sabri was a next generation innovative quawwal who was Doing and changing the sound and art of quawwali ..!i cannot understand what reason one had to think and kill a creative harmless human being???what were the killers thinking that he was doing which made them shoot him chasing him in a bike at blank range??

Very very sad. A musician spends his life trying to share happiness and harmony with people around him  and such a person to face a violent death?  Truly devastating. RIP
