Sooraj Pancholi’s career is going well as he has signed quite a few films but one film seems to have eluded him – Bosco Martis’s Circus. While Sonakshi Sinha has been signed on to play the trapeze artist and Suniel Shetty her father, Sooraj’s part in the film remains a mystery.
Says a source, “The film revolves around a father-daughter relationship against the background of a circus and its artists and the dying craze for it. Sooraj was among the first to be approached for the film and given a story narration. He was also to play a trapeze artist and perform some daredevil stunts apart from a romantic track between him and the lead actress. Sooraj had not only liked the story but given his nod to it. He was to start prep for it earlier this year and train with gymnasts and acrobats. But now, while Sonakshi and Suniel have been confirmed for the film nobody knows whether Sooraj is doing the film or not. It’s possible he has given his dates away for another film as Circus ran into some casting issues after Parineeti Chopra walked out of it last year. In all this noise about Sonakshi’s casting, everybody has forgotten what happened to Sooraj in the film. Bosco is now on the lookout for a male lead opposite Sooraj.”
However a source close to Sooraj insists that he was never approached for the film but just given a narration. “Sooraj just heard the script, that’s all. He had never signed or committed to the film verbally.” The actor is currently shooting for Faruk Kabir’s untitled next.
