Ever since the first-look poster of his new film Haddi was released, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been hearing and reading that the transgender character that he plays resembles actress-anchor Archana Puransigh.
“It’s very flattering, because they are talking about a very beautiful woman there. If my character in Haddi looks anything like her then I must have done something right,” says Nawaz.
However having said this, Nawaz feel this current trend of comparisons and catty comments are deleterious to the mental health of the nation. “People are spending too much time trying to find new ways of amusing themselves by insulting others. This is not healthy. Targeting films and actors has become the biggest entertainment in the country. Main yeh sab dekhta hi nahin hoon(I don’t look at all this nonsense).”
