Paramount+’s latest NCIS spinoff brings back fan favorites Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David to the European front with three episodes out of 10. Released today, on September 4, NCIS: Tony & Ziva picks up five years after Ziva’s final appearance in Season 17 of NCIS.
Tony (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva (Cote de Pablo) are raising their daughter Tali in Paris while maintaining a fragile peace. Tony now runs a security firm that works with clients like Interpol, while Ziva teaches language classes. But when a cyberattack on Interpol ties back to them, their civilian life ends.
Episode 1: No Country Is Safe Breakdown
NCIS: Tony & Ziva opens with a wedding scene where Ziva appears to be the bride, before jumping back in time to days earlier. Things go wrong fast when Tony’s company suffers a major data breach. Hackers steal millions of euros from Interpol using a malware USB device called the 9.4. Tony and his assistant Claudette (Amita Suman) manage to stop part of the attack as they leave the USB, but not all is solved. The hackers get away with €115 million.

The criminals want the USB back, and they break into Tony’s office. Tony’s in a tough situation as one of the intruders reveals that his daughter, Tal, is being watched. Tony sends a silent distress alert to Ziva, who is in therapy, working through past trauma. She gets Tali to safety. Later, the couple reveals their jobs to Tali and sends her away with her former SAS operative babysitter, Sophie (Lara Rossi).
Tony has attached a tracker to the USB, and they track the stolen USB to a hospital, where the hackers are threatening to cut the hospital’s power system. Ziva negotiates with hospital staff while Tony investigates. He’s captured by a woman police officer, the same woman who almost killed Claudette during the malware heist, but she lets Tony go unharmed.
After resolving the hospital threat by paying the ransom, they get shocking news that the stolen money was transferred into Tony’s corporate account. Someone is framing Tony’s business. Interpol grew suspicious of him and now believes they were behind the attack. Tony’s friend and Interpol contact, Henry (James D’Arcy), turns on them. With no other choice, Tony and Ziva go on the run to prove their innocence.
Claudette traces the cyber theft and finds the hacker Boris (Maximilian Osinski). Tony and Ziva track down a hacker who helped build the 9.4 malware. He’s preparing for his wedding. As Tony and Ziva pressure him, he reveals that the woman police had recruited him, but he wasn’t aware of the dangers associated with it.
Episode 2: No Friend of Mine Breakdown

NCIS: Tony and Ziva Episode 2 starts in the same setup as Boris’s room. Boris refuses to take responsibility for how the code is used but agrees to help. Meanwhile, Interpol has already arrived at Boris’ apartment. During this moment, they learn the name of the mysterious woman, Martine (Nassima Benchicou). Boris and his fiancée, Fruzsi (Anne-Marie Waldeck), along with Tony and Ziva, escape together in the car from their back door.
Boris mentions another hacker connected to the malware, and they track him down in Italy. Now they are in Milan, taking shelter in a safe which was up for rent. Before they could chase the other hacker, Tony and Ziva fell victim to a malfunctioning programme of self-driving cars. They barely escaped it by shooting the tires. The hacker is killed during a chase involving the cars.
Back in Paris, Claudette’s apartment was raided by Interpol. She barely escapes them and joins the team in Italy. Claudette blames Boris for getting them involved, leading to an argument with his fiancée, Fruzsi. In a flashback, we learn that five years ago, Henry tried to recruit Tony and Ziva to Interpol. They refused, choosing to focus on raising Tali instead. But now, everything has changed.
Ziva gives him one chance to prove that Henry can be trusted. Tony asks Henry to meet him alone. But the meeting turns out to be a setup. The hacker team of Boris and Claudette alerted him that the Interpol agents were nearby. Tony walks away in the rain, feeling betrayed.
At their temporary hideout, Boris and Claudette reveal new intel that Martine takes orders from a man inside Interpol. They also informed that 9.4 was used in an attack on Reigning Fire, a private defense contractor that builds military drones. The malware is being weaponized, and Tony and Ziva are still suspects.
Interpol is after them, and the malware is spreading. Tony and Ziva must stay ahead to clear their names and stop what’s coming next. Stay tuned for more as we break down episode 3 next.
