Reacting to recent remarks made by Kabir regarding the supposed hurdles he had to face in getting a censor certificate for Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Nihalani says, “Kabir Khan claims we objected to the title and that we wanted him to change it. This is incorrect. In fact the censor board loved Bajrangi Bhaijaan so much so that we went out of our way to make sure the film gets released without any hitch.”
Nihalani says  censorial guidelines had to be set aside for the sake of the larger good. “Bajrangi Bhaijaan had several problematic moments and dialogues. But we decided the film had a very powerful and positive message. We allowed Kabir to break the queue and get a certificate out of turn for Bajrangi Bhaijaan because the censor board truly believed this to be  a special film. And still he claims we tried to create hurdles for the film?”

Adds Nihalani, “Actually there were many problems with the anti-Pakistan dialogues of Kabir’s other filmPhantom. And we had to make him take all of it out.He isn’t talking about Phantom because it was a flop film.”
