Draco Malfoy, Neville Longbottom, and Madame Hooch get new looks in latest Harry Potter set photos
New set photos from HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series have revealed the first looks at several characters. These include Draco Malfoy, Neville Longbottom, and Madam Hooch, giving fans a new glimpse at what to expect from the adaptation. The images appear to show the first book’s first-year flying lesson, where Harry Potter takes to the air to save Neville Longbottom’s Rememberall after Draco Malfoy throws it.
The photos were taken at the Ashridge Estate in Hertfordshire, England. The filming location was previously used in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) for the Quidditch World Cup scenes. The series features Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch.
The set photos also show the new costume design for Hogwarts students. The black school robes from the original films seem to have been replaced with a new version. The new robes appear to have a reddish-brown tone.
Production for the new Harry Potter series began in July 2025. This follows years of anticipation after HBO first confirmed plans to adapt J.K. Rowling’s seven books for television. Each of the seven seasons will focus on one book, allowing for a more detailed exploration of the story. Filming for the debut season is expected to continue into mid-2026. Meanwhile, the series is slated for release in 2027 on HBO.
