No Love Lost,’ Gets A New Definition From These Divorced Bollywood Couples

The new-age definition of no-love-lost is to not let love be lost even when marriages end. Bollywood couples are taking divorce- maturity to the next level by staying together as a couple for their children’s sake.

The maturest of them all are Farhan Akhtar and his ex-wife Adhuna who went their separate ways in January 2016.Ever since , they have maintained an attitude of post-marriage maturity, and not just for their two daughters’ sake.

Says a close friend of the couple, “Farhan and Adhuna continue to look out for each others, amd not only for their children’s sake.”

This post-divorce idea of together-in-separation is also shared by Hrithik Roshan and his former wife Sussanne . Both have confessed to this writer that there is never going to be any reunion .But they will continue to function as parents to their sons.

Said Sussanne, “There is no possibility of reconciliation…ever.”

She also added that they will always continue to come together for their children’s sake.

After sulking for a bit, Malaika Arora Khan also joined the club of chilled-out divorcees. She continues to be present at her ex-husband Arbaaz’s family functions, though her relations with her former husband are not quite hunky-dory.

As a designer-friend of Ms Malaika preens, “It all all depends on what separates a couple. In Farhan-Adhuna’s case there was no bitterness in the parting. They just outgrew each other. But in the case of Hrithik-Sussanne and Arbaaz-Malika there was a lot of acrimony during parting. Hrithik and Susanne have covered their mutual grievances well for the sake of the children.

How to be friends with you ex even when the couple is no longer having sex , is a secret formula for selfpreservation among Bollywood couples. When Aamir Khan married his college sweetheart Reena, no one thought it would ever end. But it did. However in spite of the fact that he is happily married to Kiran Rao now, Reena and the two children from his past marriage continue to be an integral part of Aamir’s life.

“There is a certain amount of interest in keeping the bonding with the family live after divorce when your ex-husband is Aamir Khan or Salman Khan’s brother,” a hotshot director bitches naughtily.

Even Kiran seems extremely fond of Aamir’s children from the first marriage. Unlike Sridevi whose marriage to producer Boney Kapoor stonewalled his relationship with his first wife the late and much missed Mona Kapoor and his two children from her. Ironically Boney’s two children from first marriage Arjun and Anshula are very close to Boney’s brother Anil Kapoor and his family while Boney now keeps a distance from his brother .

Not all marriages in showbiz end amicably. Kamal Haasan and Sarika parted most bitterly and mutual friends had to take sides.

Sarika never forgave me for supporting Kamal Haasan during their very painful separation. But that’s another story.

Some other time.
