No Preview Press Show For ‘Critic Proof’ Golmaal Again, Whereas Aamir Depends Entirely On Word Of Mouth

Fed up of their cinema being condemned as  ‘brainless’  Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgan  have decided to have no preview press shows  of Golmaal Again.

The critics will have to wait till Friday to watch the film.

Says a source from the film’s production team, “There is no point in showing the Golmaal series to critics in advance. We know they will rip the  film apart.Everyone thinks it’s best to  desist from bringing reviewers into the picture until release.”

Interestingly this was the logic applied to  the other “mindless” entertainer  of  the season Judwaa 2. That film too was  held back from exposure to media  until its release date .

Explains Judwaa  director David Dhawan, “It’s not disrespect to critics. But standard critical evaluations cannot be applied to films that are made purely for entertainment.”

On the other hand  the other Diwali release  Secret Superstar is dependent  entirely on critical recommendation and word of mouth.And  producer Aamir Khan is going all-out to ensure his friends are making the right noise.

Says the formidable Shabana Azmi, “ I liked Secret Superstar .Zaira Wasim is feisty assertive the new age ‘Guddi’ and her young male friend is verrrrrry cute. The actor who plays the father is very  effective and Aamir has had a ball doing the obnoxious Shakti Kumar with a soft heart. Mother is good too. I wish the film the very best. It will be appreciated and also be a success at the box office.”
