“No Release Date Yet For Sooryavanshi”, Says Reliance CEO

Shibasish Sarkar, CEO of Reliance Entertainment  has shot down reports stating that  the long-awaited  Akshay Kumar-Rohit Shetty starrer Sooryavanshi would release  on  April 2.

Reacting sharply to the report  Sarkar says, “The release is not yet decided…It seems  apart from me  and  Rohit Shetty(the  producers of Sooryavanshi) every journalist and media outlet is behaving  like  the producer.”

Further probing reveals that  the  release date  for Sooryavanshi as also Reliance Entertainment’s other  premium  project ’83  are  now under  consideration.

A  source  very close to  one  of the two  projects tells  me. “It’s all very well for the  false sense of Covid-free  bonhomie being created around public recreational places. The fact is, the pandemic is not yet gone, and  attendance in movie theatres  is  still  very restricted. Any attempt to pull the audience back  into theatres  at this juncture is  premature.”
