Pahlaj Nihalani Sues Suhel Seth For Comparing Him To A Bulldog

Lately there has been no dearth of insults and defamatory comments against the chairperson of Censor Board Of Film Certification.

While Pahlaj Nihalani has chosen not to react to most of the vilification he has decided to take strong legal action against author and socialite Suhel Seth for his comments in a column he wrote in a Mumbai tabloid where he referred to Pahlaj Nihalani as  the “biggest dolt” and  a “bulldog that is having breathing issues”.

Says Nihalani, “Under normal circumstances I would have ignored these comments too. Who takes Suhel Seth seriously? But my wife and family feel the gentleman has crossed the line of decorum. It’s one thing for him to criticize my work and films. But to make such derogatory personal remarks, is this the freedom of speech that we so want to protect and preserve in our country?”

Nihalani confirms he  is taking legal action against Seth. “My lawyer is looking at the strongest possible legal action against Mr Seth. He needs to be told that there is a difference between constructive criticism which I am all for , and vilification. I am surprised the paper has allowed such language to  be used.
